Balnea terms of use

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Balnea mobile app ("the app"). The app is run by Balnea ("we", "us").

By using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

2. What Balnea is, and what it isn't

Balnea is a guide to pools and spas in Yerevan. It helps you find places, understand who can enter and how a visit is arranged, and decide what to do next.

Balnea does not sell, book or reserve visits, take payment, or guarantee admission. There are no tickets, passes or bookings in the app. The app is free to use, and there are no in-app purchases.

3. Venue information can change

We work to keep the guide accurate.

Venues can still change their prices, hours, seasons, rules and who they admit at any time, often without telling us. So:

  • The guide describes what was known when it was last checked. It is not a live feed from the venue.
  • A price in the app is an indication, not an offer.
  • Offline, the app shows the information saved on your phone and tells you when it was last updated.
  • "Unknown" means we don't know. Please don't read it as "yes".
  • Always confirm with the venue before you travel, especially the price, opening hours, age rules and whether visitors who are not hotel guests or members can enter.

4. The venue decides who enters

Each venue sets its own prices, rules and admission policy, and decides whether to let you in. Balnea is not the venue, not its agent and not its partner, unless the app clearly says otherwise. Anything you arrange with a venue (a visit, a request, a payment, a membership) is between you and the venue.

5. Leaving the app: official sites, directions and sharing

  • Official sites and request forms. "Visit official site" and "Request on venue site" open the venue's own website in your browser. The app tells you before you leave. What happens there, including any booking or payment, is governed by that website's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for other websites.
  • Directions. "Get directions" opens a map app you choose (for example, Google Maps, Yandex Maps, 2GIS or Apple Maps) at the entrance we have checked. Map apps calculate their own routes. Follow road signs, local rules and common sense.
  • Sharing. When you share a venue, you decide what to send and who to send it to.

6. Reporting an update

If you notice that something in the guide is wrong or has changed, you can send us a report from the venue page.

  • Reports are reviewed by a person. They never change the guide automatically. We check with the venue or its official source first. We aim to look at urgent reports, such as a closure, a refused entry or a safety problem, on the same day during our working hours (09:00–21:00 Yerevan time), but we can't promise a response time.
  • We may not reply, even if you leave an email address. Sending a report does not create an obligation for us to change the guide.
  • Keep reports truthful and relevant. Don't include other people's personal details, offensive content or advertising.
  • You allow us to use what you send to check and correct the guide, and to improve the app. You keep any rights you have in your text, but you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide and permanent right to use it for these purposes. We don't publish your report.

7. Using the app fairly

You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't:

  • send false, misleading, abusive or automated reports, or try to get around the limits on reports
  • interfere with the app or our servers, probe them for weaknesses without our permission, or overload them
  • copy, extract or republish the guide's content in bulk (for example, by scraping), or use it to build a competing product, without our written permission
  • decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it
  • suggest that you are us, or that we endorse you

We may limit or block access that breaks these rules, for example by rate limiting.

8. Our content and other people's rights

  • The guide's text, selection and arrangement of information, design, icons and software belong to us or to people who have licensed them to us.
  • Where there is no licensed photo, the app shows a neutral illustration and doesn't present it as a photo of the venue. You may not reuse photos from the app.
  • Venue names and trademarks belong to their owners. Using them in the guide doesn't mean the venue endorses Balnea, or that we endorse the venue.
  • You may use the app, and share links and short excerpts about a venue, for personal purposes.

9. How places are ordered

The default "Recommended" order is our own editorial ordering. It favours places where a one-off visit is documented, and information that is fresh and complete. It is not based on payment or popularity, and venues cannot pay for placement. If paid placement is ever introduced, it will be clearly labelled and covered by a separate policy.

10. Health and safety

Pools, saunas, steam rooms and spas carry real risks. Follow the venue's rules and staff instructions, supervise children, and check with a doctor if you have a medical condition. Information in the guide about facilities, water or age rules is for planning only. It is not safety or medical advice.

11. Availability and changes to the app

The app is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or stop the app or any feature, add or remove venues, or pause a listing while we recheck it. We will try to keep the app working, but it may sometimes be unavailable or show out-of-date information. When a venue is removed from the guide, it may stay in your Saved list with a note that it is no longer in the guide.

12. Our liability

  • The app is a free information service. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on venue information that has changed or was wrong, from a venue's decision to refuse entry, change a price or close, or from anything that happens on a venue's premises or on another website or app.
  • Where the law does not allow us to exclude liability, our liability is limited to the extent the law permits.
  • Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by contract.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes or when booking is added. The current version, with its date, is always available in the app under More → Terms. If a change is significant, we will say so clearly in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.

Booking and payments are not part of the app today. If they are added, separate booking terms will be published and must be accepted before you can book.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of Armenia.
